The January 11th meeting had a large turn-out! The quarterly event was held at the University Plaza Hotel in Springfield, Missouri.

Ralph Rognstad Jr.of The City of Springfield gave a presentation of the College Street Corridor development. This unique park will include features and displays representing the city as the birthplace of Route 66! It was on April 30, 1926 at Park Central Square where officials first proposed U.S. 66 as the name of the new Chicago-to-Los Angeles highway. Bob Schwarz gave us details of the upcoming “Hot Summer Nights” Car Cruise at Bagnall Dam Strip. Jim Crooks announced details of the next meeting on April 12th, 2014 at the Vacuum Cleaner Museum in St. James. The meal will be catered by Missouri Hick BBQ. Details and reservation form to be posted soon as well as in the mail for members.
